Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners. Cookies cannot run programmes or deliver viruses to your device.
This policy covers cookies and similar storage technologies (including localStorage) used on {{DOMAIN}}/strong> (replace with your actual domain). It is compliant with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and the ICO's updated guidance on storage and access technologies (April 2026).
2. The cookies we use
Essential cookies — always active, no consent required
These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function. Without them, services you have asked for (like a shopping bag) cannot be provided. They do not collect information about you for marketing purposes and cannot be switched off.
| Name / Technology | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
cookie-consent |
Stores your cookie consent preference (analytics accepted or essential only) so we don't ask you again on every visit | 12 months (localStorage) | This site |
cart |
Stores your shopping bag contents during a browsing session so items are not lost if you navigate away | Session only (sessionStorage — clears when you close the tab) | This site |
| Cloudflare security cookies | Security and bot detection by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Used to protect the site from malicious traffic. | Session or up to 1 year | Cloudflare, Inc. |
Analytics cookies — only with your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website — for example, which pages are most popular and how people find us. This helps us improve the site. These cookies are only placed on your device if you click "Accept analytics" on our cookie banner. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled, so your full IP address is never stored.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number. Used to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data. | 2 years | Google LLC |
_ga_[ID] |

Google may process this data in the United States. Google operates under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and uses Standard Contractual Clauses for UK data transfers. See Google's privacy policy and Google Analytics data safeguarding.
Payment cookies (set by Stripe)
When you click "Checkout with Stripe", you are redirected to Stripe's hosted payment page. Stripe may set its own cookies on that page for security and fraud prevention purposes. These are set by Stripe, not by us, and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We have no control over these cookies.
3. What we do not do
We do not use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies — we do not place ads and do not track you across other websites
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, etc.)
- Third-party analytics beyond Google Analytics
- Cookies that track you after you leave this site
4. Your consent and how to change it
When you first visit this site, a cookie banner asks for your consent to analytics cookies. You can choose "Accept analytics" or "Essential only".
You can change your preference at any time:
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it. If you withdraw consent, we will stop loading Google Analytics on your next page load. Note that existing Google Analytics cookies on your device (set before withdrawal) will remain until they expire — you can delete these via your browser settings.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also manage, block, or delete cookies directly through your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers:
Note: blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of this site (for example, your shopping bag may not work correctly).
6. Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, if we add or remove cookies. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will display a new consent banner if we introduce new non-essential cookies.
7. Contact and complaints
If you have questions about how we use cookies, contact us at customer.service@headorn.com.
If you are unhappy with how we handle cookies or personal data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Telephone: 0303 123 1113
This policy reflects the ICO's updated guidance on storage and access technologies (April 2026), the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and the UK GDPR.
